About
We set out to assess the impact of the Omicron variant on consumer behavior in the final months of 2021 and to better understand how foot traffic patterns had evolved from 2020. We take a closer look at penetration and visit frequency amongst all U.S. consumers visiting various places of interest between August - October 2021 as compared to the same months in 2020. Our analysis is intended to help brands & marketers compare year-over-year trends and assess Omicron's impact on real-world behavior.
Foursquare analyzes consumer behavior based on foot traffic data from the millions of Americans that make up our always-on panel. All data is anonymized, aggregated and normalized against U.S. Census data to remove any age, gender or geographical bias.
