People are on the move. Yet, not necessarily heading back into the office. In this analysis, we set out to better understand the current state of workplace visitation in the United States. We examined foot traffic and self-reported survey data to assess why some people are reluctant to head back to the office, though life outside of the office has generally returned to normal. In this report, we took a closer look at foot traffic patterns of return-to-office (RTO) professionals and remote (WFH) professionals between May - October 2021.

Foursquare analyzes consumer behavior based on foot traffic data from the millions of Americans that make up our always-on panel. All data is anonymized, aggregated and normalized against U.S. Census data to remove any age, gender or geographical bias.
